Chris Eubank Sr. compared Joshua loss to his fight against Dan Schommer

For those not woke, USA's "Dangerous" Schommer faced "Simply The Best" Eubank at SMW for the WBO title in South Africa. One of Eubank's best ring entrances, BTW. He looked like a greek god, the audio was perfect, the lighting was perfect.

Schommer was undefeated with one draw and a solid KO ratio, but visually he looked like a pie next to Eubank. He actually had a full time office job, I believe and had only boxed part time in clubs.

Eubank was the clear aggressor, multiple times flush landing the shot that put Dos Santos out, but Schommer was overall more effective, with beautiful range finding and inside work. Despite this, Eubank got a controversial unanimous decision.

While Eubank was still in his prime age-wise, this stretch was right at the beginning of his decline after almost losing to Ray Close. He would never be same again.

Schommer would retire after this fight and was later inducted into the Minnesota Boxing Hall of Fame, largely for his performance against Eubank.

Eubank has been on record multiple times admitting that Schommer got robbed, and he felt that the judges gave it to him because it was best for business that he not lose.

Before the Joshua fight, Eubank criticized a pundit who was making derogatory comments about Ruiz's body, and felt that Ruiz had a chance to shock Joshua - which is exactly what happened.

Eubank has class man. He's an honest dignified man. How many other boxers of his magnitude admit they were on the right end of a robbery

Tony bellew won't admit chilemba beat him to this day... if you get a draw on a matchroom card against one of their stars in the UK then it means you clearly won the fight ie Chilemba, beltran(vs burns) etc

Key point is that judges looked to be possibly giving Joshua the win before Ruiz got the TKO. Which was odd, because despite a great second round, I didn't give Joshua more than 1 other round besides. So there was clearly something going on and fortunately Ruiz took matters into his own hands - like I wish other fights like Manny would have done.
