Joshua is a weight-lifter who got by on size and power until now.... once they come up against a boxer who knows how to slip and counter they are done.
The real test for Joshua now has started. He quit in there last night.... it could be the pressure, not taking the fight seriously.... I don't know? but Joshua is the same place I knew he was before he lost the titles.... a mediocre boxer with massive power.... he's not elite level and knows it, still learning basics.
He should speak to Wlad who had similar defeats in the past.... try and learn how to beat short guys behind a jab and holding when they come inside... he needs to protect his chin and not trade with 6"2 brawlers with fast hands and combinations.... he gave Ruiz the fight because he is not a good boxer and his ring IQ sucks
AJ seems to be an exceptional athlete, with exceptional work ethic, trains his body to the max, but Ruiz seems lazy, unfit and likes to eat McDonalds.
should it be discouraging to any boxer that working hard at the gym will not improve your speed, reflexes and power? Some boxers seem to be fast and powerful but it comes naturally.
In boxing the look doesn’t always tell the story. I think that Joshua got caught on the temple by a fat guy and never recovered. To answer your question, no it’s not discouraging...but it is funny as hell to laugh at sike lmao.
It's not 'genetics' :/ So because he's of Mexican heritage he's destined to be a chubster? Like he couldn't be a lot leaner if he tried? Of course he could. But obviously he performs well enough in fights and in training that his excess flab clearly doesn't hinder him that much, so he can focus on his skills instead. The only thing that benefits him is that his punches will carry extra weight, and (half joking) he might withstand body shots better with his natural extra cushioning.
If Ruiz wanted to be ripped he could be. But he doesn't need to be.
I don´t think it´s genetics. I think it´s mexican food in general. Tacos and Nachos and The Whole Enchilada plus they love drinking beer that results in fat bellys. All that food is high in cholesterol and is not as easy to shed off as the brit diet of drinking tea and eating balanced sandwiches. Ruiz just happens to be a fat guy with skills and a mean mexican style that is chili hot
Tbh with you, look at the way Ruiz bounces around the ring after the fight, and look at the mobility and agility in his legs, body, and torso when he throws punches. Look at his handspeed and leverage he gets on his shots, very quickly.
Ruiz is very very athletic. He just doesn't look it at all.

You really should think before you make an idiotic thread like this.
