Funny how people will claim any heritage if it suits them. Lennox Lewis? Canadian. Jamaican. British. Each country would tell you he's their guy.

Khan beats people, he's no longer from the Middle East. He's British, in the British boxing tradition. When he loses, he's back to being a hummus-eater who should go back to the sandbox.

Fact is, boxing thrives on this kind of racism, that's why they play it up: Mexican vs Puerto Rican, British vs American, German vs French or whatever. Wave the flags and sing the anthems.

This fight should be divided by something else besides race or nationality. The people who cheer Ruiz should be ...fat people laughing at physically fit people!
So Mexico and the USA are races now? News to me.

My wife is Hispanic-American btw and my child is now half....

All I'm saying is that if you were born somewhere and were raised on the security, welfare system and education of a country, and live IN THAT COUNTRY....

Don't act like you did this for the country that your family is from! That simple. I don't go earn my living for Ireland, Scotland and Germany because my family was originally from there lol

Like I said, USA is more about ethnic background than citizenship nationality, this is a racist country anyway IMO.

Ho and I'm no Brit, I have no horse in this race.

You, you are the well named mexican puppet, not a fan of the sport but a fan of Mexico
Joshua never had the dream.of represent Nigeria.

Both parents of Joshua are from Nigeria (first generation)?

Andy represented Mexico in amateur and was national champion, both parents are from México, he born in a place that was part of México and where lives like 10 millions of mexicans (California).

Joshua feels brit, Andy is mexican and he feel mexican. He has the nationality and citizenship , so, he is mexican

      And stop with your sh.it

There is a lot of hate against México here in the forum, but I m a huge fan of boxing, i'm a fan of a lot of fighters from other countries and you look like a mexican hater

Just like the person you are arguing with, born in the US but likes his Mexican roots, just like Bruce Lee, born in San Francisco and always was seen as Chinese. In the US, a guy is called Hispanic even if he was born in the US, does that make him from Spain like the word Hispanic implies? No. If you are not Hispanic STFU and don´t argue about things you dpn´t know.
Lol so he's US American right? Yes, he's US American and yes he won the title for the US. Not Mexico. Does that mean he's not of Mexican descent? Certainly not. But....If he wants to still be Mexican, he can go live there and take the title there. Otherwise, that title lives with him......In Cali brah

Seems like race is more important than nationality in the USA...
          Not surprising
Yes, but also dual Mexican citizenship

I'm sure when he was representing Mexico in the Olympics.

          DUAL CITIZENSHIP

Race and Nationality are two different things. He has citizenship in Mexico, he has a right to claim them. Be different if he up and started claiming Canada out of the blue.

When they win they're American, huh? He identifies as Mexican, as he should. It's in his DNA. Where you're born means nothing.
How can he win a title for a country that he's never lived in? And no, I couldn't care less what he is or isn't. But, I'm from the US and find it disrespectful considering he was born and raised on our security, education system and tax dollars. That's all.

                    You repeat after me .......

YOU CAN ONLY BE BORN IN A SINGLE COUNTRY.

Now, where was he born? And where does he live? And where did he go to school? (not that it made him any smarter)

He wasn't born on top of the fkn border ya knob
