That’s my prediction for Ruiz in 2020 if he defeats Anthony Joshua in a rematch later this year.
Since Wilder and Fury will likely (apologies to Luis Ortiz who very well could change these plans) be fighting each other in the first half of 2020, the next most financially attractive option for Ruiz and PBC outside of a Wilder unification would be to lure Andre Ward out of retirement.
Ruiz would get a chance to add a hall of fame boxer to his resume and enhance his reputation as one of the best boxers in the world. Ward would get a chance to become a unified heavyweight champion and cement his legacy further against someone only two inches taller and who only has a three inch reach advantage. Both would receive paydays near their career high and PBC would have a highly attractive PPV event for Fox or Showtime.
