He thought he could buy some time. The ref stopped it because AJ wouldn't fight (told him let's box but he wouldn't leave the corner) but I think if AJ knew he wasn't going to get away with waiting around, he would have gone out of his shield. Remember, where he's from he would have been able to get away with that.
Exactly this. It wasn't a quit per say but he wasn't mad it was called either.
