    Thoughts on tonight

    I was wrong about AJ

His movement was plodding, his firepower couldn't bail him out, his chin is questionable and even his heart tbh because he did quit at the end after going down from not even hard shots.

Andy ruiz- I knew he was a good fighter but damn, he was amazing tonight and such a nice guy, I'm happy for him.

I don't think AJ can win a rematch, he doesn't have the jab keep away game of a Wlad klitschko

Still in shock but it is what it is

AJ's inability to back Ruiz up/keep him off was the most puzzling thing to me. Very surprising and not sure how that would change.

AJ struggles with shorter fighters. You can clearly see that. He's not comfortable. But he does need to commit to the jab and not paw with it. ****** swinging on the inside with Ruiz which is where he got nailed by the left hook.

He was scared of the counter.

He didn't look like he wanted to be in the ring. The whole American debut looked like it had him nervous. He kept looking at the ref and his corner and almost looked like he was happy he lost as its weight off his shoulder.

I never thought Ruiz would win but I always said AJ stays hurt once he’s hurt. He has really slow recovery time. He’s lucky Wlad could barely pull the trigger anymore and tonight met someone that could still pull the trigger when he needed

Joshua doesn't have a good jab

It's been like that a while

Klitschko had a thunderous jab which would bust a guy like ruiz up and keep him from coming inside

Joshua's jab is meh and a shorter guy with faster hands has an advantage inside vs aj

                Well...

Thank God he didn't fought Wilder.

He could have gotten seriously hurt.

Also we know people love Joshua's body-building physique, but if its in the way of his cardio/stamina, it ain't gonna help him much in the ring.

                He'll be back

AJ needs to change trainers, or at least bring in some new blood to help in the camp. His inability to control distance tonight against a much smaller fighter was shocking. Hell, bring Wlad in to help teach you some stuff. I'd say Lennox if there weren't such a bitterness between those 2 camps. But there is no excuse for AJ's jab to be so ineffective and under utilized. Wlad and Lennox would have jabbed that ****ers head off
