Smith looked good. Good size, power. Pretty good technical skills. If he is beaten it will be on quickness...I actually think him vs Canelo would be a good fight. As would him vs GGG - GGG not as quick as Canelo but would present his own problems for Smith if he can land his jab.

Hate seeing these mismatches but what can you do. I guess N'Dam wanted this shot so hard to fault anyone for giving it to him. Hopefully we get some more good matchups between 160-168 soon.

Why would canelo fight him he's a natural 154/160 and Callum is a LHW so why not a catch weight to 164.5 but Callum will drain himself and that will never happen. People are desperate to see Canelo lose. Callum will have a massive advantage.

I can see Canelo winning as well - only problem is if they fought and Smith actually won, I don't see Smith actually getting the decision.

I like Canelo and think he is really improving, but anyone he goes 12 rounds with, Canelo will basically get the decision regardless imo.

Just sucks in a way because I think it would be a good matchup - but I don't see Canelo taking the fight unless he knows he can go 12 rounds and in that case the fight already being decided beforehand.

Yes...I would add in a couple guys from MW coming to 168 otherwise that list you named is what I want to see as well...

Other than speed/quickness, not much to hate on. Obviously has good power...not just in stopping Groves and N'Dam tonight, but the punches he hurt them with were not even really big shots.

I do think a good quick fighter could give him some problems though...but they better be able to box and take a punch as well...

it was team Canelo who mentioned Smith as an option. I mean, does he not call himself a champion at 168??

They have some good talent in this division, I just wish they'd fight each other. Benevidez vs dirrell would b a nice start. As for canelo fighting Smith, I think he's crazy. He's a better fighter but that size difference is way too much. Other than saunders I don't really see him beating any of the elite smw. He might b able to survive 12 rounds with plant and get a gift decision but that's even a big if. I think benevidez, Dirrell, and Smith all hurt him bad. If he does fight and beat any of them decisively, I'll give him his props tho.

Smith and Ramirez should fight at Super Middleweight next... Enough of ducking each other out...
