Just some numbers for comparison for AJs and Wilders latest fights.

Wilder vs Breazeale can be considered flop when it comes to ticket sales and gate. There is a reason Showtime did not announce the gate or the ticket sales/PAID attendance, all they did was announce an attendance of ~13k which included a ton of free tickets and comps. The upper tier was not even opened, meaning the venue was set up for an attendance of only 13k but at the evening of the fight there were thousands of thousands tickets left unsold both on ticketmasters and stubhub.
They only sold about 6-7k tickets according to reports, rest were comps and given away for free. But nevertheless, lets say Wilder actually sold all 13k tickets then the gate would still be 4 times lower than AJ vs Ruiz.
The average ticket prive for Wilder vs Breazeale was ~$150

AJ vs Ruiz is a huge success based on ticket sales, MSG is fully opened for max capacity of 20.8k seats and over 19k tickets have already been sold and its probably going to be a sellout, when you go check on ticketmasters you see approximately ~1k tickets left.
The average ticket price for AJ vs Ruiz is ~$350
Joshua vs Ruiz 20k tickets $350 each = $7M
Wilder vs Breazeale 13k tickets $140 each = $1.8M (highest possible estimate, unrealistic)
Wilder vs Breazeale 7k tickets $140 each = <$1M (realistic estimate)
So when you compare the highest possible estimate for Wilder vs Breazeale ($1.8M) the gate was approximately 4 times lower than Joshua first fight in the US vs Ruiz ($7M).
