Comments Thread For: Pacquiao: Thurman Fight Will Convince Everyone I'm Still Here

NEW YORK Manny Pacquiao suspects his detractors don't believe victories over Lucas Matthysse and Adrien Broner proved that the aged legend still can thrive at boxing's elite level. Pacquiao beat up Matthysse, dropped him three times and stopped the Argentine knockout artist in the seventh round of their July 15 fight in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Pacquiao's critics considered that a diminished Matthysse (39-5, 36 KOs, 1 NC), who retired after Pacquiao beat him.

Pacquiao looked great in his last two fights and definitely still has speed and power. There isn’t anything under the sun that Thurman can do to surprise him so my money is on Pac-Man

Most of them feel that way until the inevitable happens. Just have a good ride off the sunset pac. Sometimes you have to check your self for contentment as well, yes you still want to compete, you still love them game but you gotta take a step back and say, im happy with my career this is enough... don’t dream more about it, unless you still want to be back where u used to be and it left a hole in ur heart... u just can’t. You cant be pound for pound king again, this is just the cycle.

if Manny beats Thurman, there's no more "Old Man" talk! I think he can do it too! B-Hop KO'd Oscar De La Hoya at 39 years, 247 days in a MW fight, AT A CATCH-WEIGHT! It can be done! Good Luck Champ!

It's old but you being best of era might still be too much for thurman. Might not be old enough for thurman to beat you.
You.Might need to be 44 years old with 100 fights under belt before your sufficiently past it enough for young lion

Pac, real fans know you are here. Even at 50 we would watch. Regardless of all the roid allegations, you are a legend. Queef is getting ready to get sploodged on, he has no idea what he got himself into.

You’ve got to love him though. The boxer, the boxing congressman, the boxing senator, maybe the boxing president. Good luck pac. Always brings a good game.

By staying away so long real and fake reasons fans forget he was undefeated number 1 welter beat top guys porter Garcia. Now Spence Crawford blow up and he’s a bum? Manny gets major props if he wins

B-Hop was just getting warmed up when he fought ODLH. In fairness, he was older, but ODLH was just too small. B-Hop actually fought for a dozen years longer (past 50) and had several far more impressive wins than the ODLH fight. Manny is great, but he won't be fighting into his 6th decade of life (because his style relies on speed). Pac is an exceptional Filipino, but Bernard is Martian.
