Wilder on the other hand has actually come out and said he's not fighting AJ until late 2020. There is no misrepresenting those words as they are direct.

He is only the A side in the UK. He isn't the A side in USA.

Just a technical point that's been hashed out in these forums before, but the A side tends to be the one that brings the most money to the table, and it doesn't matter where the money comes from, its the total pot. A Wilder/AJ fight wil bring money from both sides of the pond. There is gate, broadcast and promotional money, and I'm guessing the bigger pot comes from fighting in a US venue, but it doesn't necessarily mean that Wilder becomes the A side in the US.

Indeed, the total revenue generated by Joshua/Ruiz vs Wilder/Breazeale would tell us something, but I'm not sure those numbers are easily available. The gate figures might tell a story, but its only a small part of the overall picture.

I get the impression that both Joshua and Wilder have both been fringe figures outside of boxing circles in the US, and that picture is changing and that both are starting to get some awareness in the casual fan base, where the big revenues come from. Joshua has already cracked that nut in the UK - every granny in the UK knows who he is, but none of them would know who Wilder is. Sodepends on how the 'granny index' in the US develops over the next year wrt knowing who they both are, but if Joshua can develop an equal awareness in the US as Wilder, then Joshua brings 100% of the UK cake to the table along with half the US cake. That = A side.
