  • Comments Thread For: Hearn Says Devin Haney To Return in August, Jabs Ryan Garcia

After fighting 9 times in 2016 and 7 times in 2017, Devin Haney (22-0) only fought twice in 2018. The rising blue chip lightweight talent will be a lot more active in 2019. He fought for the second time this year on Saturday night when he stopped the normally durable Antonio Moran with a highlight reel one punch knockout in the 7th round in Oxon Hill, Maryland.

I'd love to see Haney on the Whyte/Rivas under-card. Could Fa$t £ddie get it together? I'm sure Lee Selby, Anthony Crolla or Scott Cardle would be up for it!

GB wont let Garcia fight Haney. He's their new golden goose.

Nobody wants to see Haney fight british tomato cAns like Crolla and Scott who? Lol

Haney is regarded as a special prospect/contender and guys like him needs to be matched up tougher.

So tired of seeing bumass Crolla get recycled.

Wait, what happened to Haney/Abdullaev for the mandatory spot for the WBC belt ? Last I heard that was a go.

Am glad this boy had his dad around him, he seem level headed, at only 20 he has had a good number of fights, hopefully they keep him active under match room but fighting Lomachenko? Hmmm

You are cold-blooded. He would murder Scotty Cardle.

It was mandated. I don't think Haney nor his promoter want to take that route to fight Loma. Too many people afraid of taking that early L will derail a career.

Exactly, Hearn isn’t even mentioning loma. That was another example of Arum flexing on Hearn and positioning his people with the sanctioning bodies. The question isn’t whether dlh will put Garcia in with Haney it’s whether Hearn will put Haney in with loma

I got the impression Hearn actually wanted the Abdullaev fight:

(dunno why the link shows asterisks, but just google haney abdullaev and its an article from 3 days ago saying Hearn planning fight with Abdullaev)
