Everyone knows why they rushed it. They know Joshua was going to call him out after the fight Saturday (if he wins) and his profile will be weakened further by obvious ducking. Sensible to take the hit and announce your pre engaged in advance

I just wonder how are they going to sell this Ppv on showtime when Jim grey said for the world to hear immediately right after wilder knocked out Breazeale that nobody wanted to see a Ortiz rematch or Breazeale (while he was still in the ring concussed lol).

Kind of a **** move to over shadow AJ debut in America and a boss move at the same time

Let's not pretend Wilder isn't an active fighter. Dude fights 3x a year when his opponents aren't failing tests. Internet nerds calling it a "PR disaster" means nothing in the potential success or failure of this fight. If he's not fighting anyone named AJ or Fury (which is a shame) then getting him on to the next fight asap is actually refreshing. I hate it when fighters do the 2x a year shyt.

And, FWIW, I don't like that he's taking this one next, I think it's pointless. Not as pointless as this thread though.

He just got out of a full camp and fought for less than 3 minutes. Wilder could be having his next fight before Whyte/Rivas if he wants.

Look how fast Ruiz hopped into a second camp.

Wait... We're forgetting that Wilder was "hurt" by Breazeale... He needs more time to recover.
Remember when the goofs here were saying "hurt" because the UK commentator accidentally said that?

They still say he was hurt because he “backed up” when Dom was swinging wild in the corner.

Apparently stepping backwards means you’re on ***** Street.

He did complain to the ref though to add to that perception he'd been hurt by a blow to the back of the head.

                    Didn't look wobbly though.

Guys will typically tap the back of their head if they feel a rabbit punch though. It rarely means they’re hurt (because you’re taught to do that in the Am’s to alert the ref to a rabbit punch, but you don’t want to alert the ref at all if you’re hurt.)

But I’m with you. Too many guys will say “oh he got hurt” when a punch connects, or if the announcer says so. Nobody bothers even looking at the guys legs or facials anymore
