Comments Thread For: Joshua Praises Wilder For Breazeale KO: That's Why I Want Him!

After reading about the frustrating news that Wilder has signed to rematch Ortiz with the "date and venue to be announced shortly", I had just about enough of it and felt compelled to create a short list of verifiable statements and actions of both Wilder and Joshua over the past year or so, with the dismal hope that maybe being bunched together as a whole may pull the wool away from some peoples eyes. Not very confident of success TBH, but worth a try I suppose.
WILDER
1. No date and venue determined for the Ortiz rematch but he signed anyway, and announced it not long after ESPN aired First Takes interview with Joshua stating once he gets past Ruiz, he invited Wilder to come sit down with him 1 on 1 to hash out differences and make the fight next man to man.
Last year when Wilder "accepted" the $15mill offer, reason it fell through was given that, "there was no confirmed date or venue.....", so he lost his pen.
2. Hadn't met his yearly obligations of defending his title against mandatory challengers but this year it was of the utmost priority to fight Breazeale who the WBC allowed to leapfrog over Dillian Whyte, the Silver champ and rightful candidate to have been his mandatory. Coinciding with the upcoming Breazeale fight, it was revealed that "I had gotten away with a lot in my career.....Im getting back to the basics". Did nothing but mitts and sparring for a majority of his training camps, revealed to me he wasnt concerned to train hard with discipline and conviction to perform at an elite level for his supporters.
3. One name, One face, One Champion..... The forgotten quote that was overtaken by Till this day(not devaluing its significance when put into context of how it came about, this is strictly about the sport)
4. I want 50/50. Why do I always have to take lowball offers and lower my standards? Compared to what he was making at the time, none of the offers made from Team Joshua was lowball and evidently even $100mill from DAZN wasnt up to his standards. According to Finkel, they had no problems lowering their standards and "we gave Fury anything he wanted, and the fight was made". The same Fury who at the time was just returning back from over 2yrs away from the sport recovering from depression, drug abuse, and 100's of pounds of weight gain.
4. Has mentioned Joshua's name at every opportunity and has said nothing but insults and claiming the fight will happen along with this quote, "be patient and let us do what we need to do to make the most money possible". Few months prior he stated, "being a champions is more than just about money".
5. Confirmation from credible sources that Ortiz, Kowlnacki, and Fury are slated to be his next 3 fights, meaning Whyte is obviously getting snubbed 3 more times before any chance of him getting his long overdue title shot. Gives substance on Whytes presonal text from Wilder claiming he could avoid him for 2 yrs.
6. "Tbh with you, I dont know why the big fights aren't happening.....maybe thats a question Shelly can better answer... "
JOSHUA
1. Rarely mentions Wilder unless directly asked a question regarding him, and on ESPN First Take the other day when asked about Wilder saying he made 5 attempts to get a Joshua fight, "its irrellevant to talk about it here and get he said she said back amd forth. I'm a fighter, we can talk in the ring".
"Wilder after June 1st, come see me, not through our promoters or manager, mano y mano and so we can negotiate the fight for this year...."(I'm parahrasing here)
After which Steven A Smith was at an uncharacteristic loss for words and just sat silent.Last edited by WOKnWOH; 05-30-2019, 12:34 AM.

He's said as much many times. And he always compliments potential foes for any boxing talents/solid wins they have. It's his promoter who wants to keep him safer than he really wants to be.

All the pressure is on AJ to save face. This fight will be 50/50 in America and not the UK. Hearn and AJ could have stopped playing games with wilder and fought him last year. AJ has no stock in America, Fury has a higher stock in America,, Wilder is A-side in America

Yes, but still we do see some fighters basically ordering their promoter to go after X fight. I think Joshua will start doing that sooner than later. Like I said... he does enjoy a stiff challenge. IMO, the Wilder fight will happen within 2 years tops.

Oh BTW, for your info, I'm not a huge Joshua fan, and what Ruiz did was quite a feat. So good for him. Joshua will rebound... and then we won't hear a peep from your DA.
