IDK if you watch other sports besides boxing but star players do get star treatment in other sports.
Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant got star treatment all the time.
Roger Clemens and Randy Johnson got star treatment when they pitched.
And star receivers and star running backs get star treatment too.
So yes it happens in all sports.
But you're right, promoters are the ones paying the referee and judge's and that has to change.
But it's not only Canelo and Oscar/Golden Boy promotions getting star treatment. I've seen Pacquiao get the star treatment. I've seen Floyd get the star treatment.
Hell we even saw Wilder get the star treatment against Fury and Wilder is far from a star!
But until the process is changed on how the referee and judge's are paid things are gonna stay the same and boxing will keep being corrupt...

I do watch other sports, and star treatment it is not the same than a gift. Remember that other sports has instant replay. A manager can challenge a shady call. I dont remember the last time a decision was reversed. Actually commissions dont like to change any decision. Larry Hazzard suspended the three referees from Lara vs William's fight, for life and the fight wasn't change.

I don't know who is Castano's promoter, but it ain't Haymon. Showtime could still try to acquire the TV rights for the U.S., if they wanted too, and I hope they do! That should be a good fight!

I tried to look it up, and I can't find out who represented Castano. Oh well, he's making 75% of the purse! I hope he wins, so we can get him back on PBC, with the best of the 154 division! I'm still hopeful that FOX or SHO will pick up the fight!
