Is Eddie Hearn really invested in American boxing?

It's basically the same thread over and over, even when Wilder hasn't said anything. You know the same circle jerk threads by the same people, happens all the time. It's like "dude we know he doesn't want the fight" we all agree, let's move onComment

This obsession you have with Hearn is seriously unhealthy. You need help.I've seen numerous videos of Hearn saying if this doesn't work out he has a good thing in the UK that he can always go back to. And as an American boxing fan this has always bothered me. Especially when you saw the way he came to America talking bad about everything with American boxing. Talking down on the sport doesn't build it up.
I know Arum, Haymon, Duva, Oscar and others are fully vested in American boxing. It's all or nothing for them. But it's obvious from his words, this is an experiment for Hearn. If it works, it works. If it doesn't he has something to fall back on. And he's made a lot of money in America with his DAZN deal. The only thing he really needs from American boxing is the AJ-Wilder fight.Comment

It's no problem, bro. Thank you so much.American boxing doesn't mean just American fighters. That was still a foul response to BoxingIsGreat saying he is looking forward to watching Katie Taylor fight. You can prefer to watch Shields all you want, but that doesn't mean you can't catch Taylor either.
I think it was just a flippant remark on his part. I can understand Motorcity Cobra's frustration. Almost all Hearn's name fighters are non-American, while Hearn seems to think he's improving American boxing, without Americans.
I can also understand if someone's a little patriotic, racial, or tribal. I'm not.
Most of my favorite fighters are Afro American, but I like a lot of non-American fighters, too, including Estrada, Canelo, Usyk, and Katie Taylor. These non-American boxers are relevant to American boxing because they fight in the US. Some even reside in the US.
Cheers, my friend.Last edited by BoxingIsGreat; 05-28-2019, 06:44 PM.Comment

It isn't really a hate. I could be one of her biggest fans on this forum, but I haven't seen anyone who hates her. It's just the political, network and promotional sides. It's also women's boxing. Many guys look down on it.Last edited by BoxingIsGreat; 05-28-2019, 11:23 PM.Comment

If the American stars won't sign with him I'm not sure what else he's supposed to do.It's no problem, bro. Thank you so much.

Guys like Farmer and Hooker are dismissed as 2nd tier, and people won't support the up and comers because "they've signed with coloniser".
Wouldn't supporting those guys go some way to improving American boxing?Comment

The bold: I don't think it's about that for most American boxing fans. Maybe some are that extreme. It goes the other way, too.If the American stars won't sign with him I'm not sure what else he's supposed to do.

Farmer and Hooker ARE second or third tier (nothing wrong with that) when it comes to some of the top American fighters. Maybe the American stars aren't signing with him because of his approach.
Hearn should have approached their advisers, managers, and promoters. Instead, he started soliciting the fighters directly on live TV or media. Do the business behind closed doors.Last edited by BoxingIsGreat; 05-29-2019, 12:20 AM.Comment
