Mmmm. Certainly there's gonna to be a multiplier drop and probably an announcement of a half year winner. Whether we go for a full reboot is up for discussion - something like resetting to zero but using the combined scores for the two halves of the year to come up with an overall 2019 champion was what I had in mind when I was considering it at the start of the year, but as ever it's going to be a matter of going with what most players want. Leave it with me and I'll discuss it with the other CREW but I think it's likely to go to a player poll.
If there are two halfs & the combined points is the winner what difference does having two halfs make? I guess it makes more "winners" potentially & thats not necessarily a bad thing. 1st half winner, 2nd half winner & the winner winner so maybe it makes sense to give more cats bragging rights or w/e.

As a guy who's missed a nice % of fights I like the idea of early reset, but the integrity & difficulty of the game seems built upon it being a year long contest for better or worse to all participants.

We don't get a Pick 'em for a meaningful Championship fight in Ito / Herring . Yet we get one for a Women's Championship fight ? I know it's a unification . But I honestly don't care .

I've never heard of her til I started hearing her as a Taylor opponent let alone see her fight that I can recall. I've seen a million fights so maybe caught her at some point, but she for sure didn't leave a lasting impression on me.
Firstly I'm just gonna clarify that there's no plans to make women's fights a regular part of the game, but it's my take that major events in the women's sport (like Shields vs Hammer for instance) can have a place, though like everything on the Pick Em we're led by the will of the players.

That said, as women's fights go, this is possibly the best fight there is to make in the women's sport, not just for undisputed but whilst it's hard to find P4P rankings for the women what there is suggests that this is two of the best 5 (or at least 10 - Persoon is #3/#4/#6 per Boxrec, WBN and BWAA) women in the world squaring off and the winner should almost certainly be considered the best female fighter in the world... akin to something like Bud vs Spence in the men's sport.

Only other time I'd consider putting up another women's fight would be something like Shields vs Braekhus or Braekhus vs Taylor.

With regards to Herring vs Ito I'll hold my hands up - I missed that it was a title fight, although in general the ranking of the pair was low enough that we wouldn't necessarily have included it anyway... although it does bring us on to the general question of which fights the players want to see in the Pick Ems - my assumption, backed up by such polls as I've put up - has been that most players want to have the major stars in more than they want to see balanced and competitive but lower ranked fighters. My personal preference is for the latter but of course there is a balance to be struck - just how far down the food chain do you go in order to get away from the mismatches that plague the upper echelons of the sport?

I think that's pretty much A.Ks angle too, but for the reasons you give my personal leaning would be towards leaving it as a full year contest - firstly it seems unfair to those who have made a good start to the year and secondly it should have been made clear at the start of the year what the plan was.. again, I'm willing to accede to the will of the majority but in this case I think it's a fairly clear choice. Shame in some ways though, cos a reboot might drag in some more new players, and I'm hoping we don't lose any regular guys like AK cos they feel like they're out of the running. Might be nice to think of other ways we could attract more players though.

EDIT: And in terms OF 'more winners' there will certainly be a special mention (and a prize if we ever get that ish sorted out) for the guys with the highest % and perfect picks among the regular players - these are, after all, surely a better metric of the skill/knowledge of a player than the sheer volume of picks made.

Yea I'd agree. If its a year long contest on day 1 it should stay a year long contest.

So the current standings end at the end of June? I thought we were going the full year
