AJ needs to destroy Ruiz and his flabby and sick looking body. The pressure is on for him to put on an impressive performance. He can't be toying around with the fatass. The thing is, Ruiz is better than what he looks. He fought Parker to a draw on my card so he is around that type of level so no pushover.
Only reason why Ruiz didn't beat Parker definitively is because he slowed down heavily after the mid rounds. And that's why Ruiz got the title shot, he has ****ty stamina too and would not push the pace on AJ. Also Ruiz doesn't have a lot of pop at this level of boxing so on paper it looked like low risk. Only problem, for AJ to keep his momentum, he will have to look impressive and I'm thinking Ruiz can take AJ's power so he'll be around for some rounds. Casual fans won't understand why he didn't ko Ruiz (a tko type british stoppage isn't going to cut it this time), the fight won't go viral, it'll be just another AJ defense that nobody will remember past the weekend of the fight.
