Comments Thread For: Thurman: Lopez Hurting Me Might've Made Pacquiao Sign Contract

NEW YORK The final one minute and 42 seconds of the seventh round of his last fight tested Keith Thurman's mettle unlike any stretch of his career. The silver lining, according to Thurman, is that those troublesome moments against Josesito Lopez on January 26 just might've convinced Manny Pacquiao to fight him. The 40-year-old Pacquiao had soundly defeated Adrien Broner the previous Saturday night in Las Vegas and was looking for his next opponent.

I agree with Keith. Same thing with Michael Conlan fighting Nikitin. When you sense vulnerability you are less reluctant. Doubt Manny would have taken this if Thurman steamrolled Lopez early!

It may have been but honestly, if Pac had to pick between Thurman, Spence Jr. and Crawford... I mean cmon now. Crawford and Spence Jr. have been looking like nothing but fire in each of their fights for the most part.

Thurman just comes back, looks rusty as f**k, and out of all his attributes, he's not great at any. His speed isn't bad but it isn't blinding. His power isn't bad but he hasn't had a KO in years or even dropping guys often as he used to. His boxing ability is probably his best aspect, but Manny probably feels he can out hustle him with that too.

I'm not saying Manny wins this because we are talking a 40 year old here. I just think, when you look at the alternatives of who Manny could of been in the ring with, he has the best chance of the big 3, to win against Thurman.

If Josesito was too slow and flat footed what will happen if Pac was on the ring. Another zero(0) will be taken this time.

Very sensible post. Also, Thurman has something that Crawford, Spence, and Porter lack: charisma and the ability to sell a fight. Thurman is already playing up the villain role that highly compliments Manny's humble and good guy persona.

WoW , i just can’t believe how much Thurman is talking
I believe when someone need’s to be talking this much they are trying to convince themselves to a certain point psyche themselves
I get it he is selling the fight but fugh me , he talking everyday
Like I’ve said from the Lopesito fight , this is going to his last fight and he wants the big coin
                  Manny wins imo
