    Biggest problem on Boxing Scene

Bar none the biggest problem on this website is that 90% of posters on here (probably being generous) are completely tribal and will change their opinion of a situation or fighter depending on who is involved. And they then try to spin it around that they are being rational and everyone else is ****** and wrong.

Most recent notable example to me was the Dervy-Canelo mandated fight. From reading the comments, all the people who gave GGG sh.it for his situation with Dervy, were all of a sudden saying that this was unfair and Canelo shouldn't have to fight Dervy etc. Just crazy.

We need to do better on here and the few posters who keep it real for the most part should get some sort of badge of honor. Just crazy that on a boxing forum there are so many fanboys and not many real fans.

What the fck are you talking about? !?

That devrenchenko ggg fight was being called before jacobs beat him.

Do you think canelo is gonna turn down the devrenchenko fight and fight Vanes instead?

You make no sense. Canelo is fighting 2 killers per year. GGG is fighting nothing but bums until he gets the canelo payday.

Just curious, who are the 2 killers Canelo is fighting per year? Cant blame GGG for getting the $$. Honestly dont have issue with Canelos opponents or GGG's since he is just in for the payday I understand it.

2016: Amir Khan (lol), Liam Smith
        2017: JCC Jr (lol), GGG
        2018: GGG, Fielding (lol)
2019: Jacobs and then GGG3 would be first "2 killers/year"

Lol...case in point. Twisting things around, trying to obfuscate the truth just to try and make your guy look good. Thanks for exposing yourself my friend!

True - good points my friend. I usually try to look at it that way - just gets a little strange when the ones doing that really try to claim the intellectual high ground and call others ******. I'll read some comments and posts on here and just start scratching my head lol.

But you're right, in general it probably adds a lot to the sport in a way. Good points.

I thought the IBF took a pass on enforcing their mandatory at this time for Canelo, which is fine with me since Jacobs already beat Derevyanchenko. That being said, why isn't the WBC enforcing the mandatory fight with Charlo?

Not sure the relevance of your first point.

If Canelo's opponent pisses dirty a month or two before a scheduled fight then yeah I think he may take a lighter touch like Vanes, Andy Ruiz, etc to save the date.

Thanks for pointing out all those killers Canelo is fighting.

I think it is fair to point out as well that even if two situations are similar, there can be small differences that can change your outlook on them.

I agree that Dervy should not imo have been given another title shot so soon. He underwhelmed relative to expectation against Jacobs, and I thought he was very poor and basically no better than Culcay. He should have to win at least twice more against good opposition before he gets another title shot.

But similarly I don't see how people could get on GGG's case for keeping the original fight date when his opponent pissed dirty, knowing that by keeping the original date, the lucrative grudge match against Canelo would be next a few months later.

For him to face Dervy there would have postponed the fight date and postponed a Canelo rematch, and all those postponements and inactivity in his mid 30s would not be ideal. Especially when the situation he found himself in was no fault of his own.

I will say also that the reason why nothing was enforced from the IBF and WBC is because money talks and Canelo is the cash king right now. So whatever he and his team want, they will get, for the most part.
