Yeah, he's done for, but it has to do more to do with the former than the latter.
If you skimp on hard training, you most likely wont pay against average competition, but you WILL pay against top tier competition.

This is true but Khan is delusional and believes he is the best and he also gets paid very well to sleep in the ring so there’s less incentive to train

Boxers have to stay active in order to be at the top of their game.

A lot of them want to get to the point where they only have to fight once or twice a year. Which is a great way to make a living but a terrible way to craft a fighting machine that functions at peak form.

I agree... Khan has potential to still fight & have a chance with Porter.. Thurman and AB. If he goes to work in between fights.

I agree, if a boxer fights twice a year, that means most are probably only actually working on their craft for 4 months of a year and nothing else for 8. It’s not really enough.

Tyson Fury used to train quite a lot before his drugs binge hiatus and has since too. He might not have always been in fighting shape but he never seemed to be out of the gym with Peter Fury and now with Davison. I think it shows in his ability, I don’t think you can gain the ring IQ just training for 8 weeks, twice a year

Pretty much most really smart fighters are gym ****

I think the issue here is that Virgil aint good with fighters like Khan who is in love with their speed and thinks they're the ish when they arent. They are not jelling. I hope Khan goes back to Freddie Roach.

Virgil is being kind. Khan just isn't off with timing and distance. Khan has some major flaws that no one can fix, starting with his character. He's too ****y, so he overestimates himself. He also underestimates his opponents. His footwork is bad. I call it happy feet. When he throw combos, he rushes in squared up, with his chin in the air. A lot of his habits are ingrained and leave him open to get clipped. And as courageous as some ppl say he is for taking on many big names over the years, it's not so much courage as it is his arrogance. he has shamelessly ducked kell brook for over a decade, and the whole universe knows he's petrified to face him in the ring, even after kell had both eye sockets broken. To me, Its worse than how a prime jack dempsey was afraid to face a 40 year old, blind- in- one- eye sam langford

He's in it for the money, he's banking on the little fame and reputation he has left to make as much money as possible and get out of the sport as soon as possible, he's been trying to cash out probably since the Danny Garcia, which I think is smart since taking more risks and damage isn't worth it and the desire is long gone.

I think Khan will go find another trainer now, comments like this are never good for the fighter's publicity and money earning potential. He's probably gonna change trainers and try to sell his next fight as a comeback with a new version of himself with a new trainer.
