The myth that Anthony Joshua gets hit a lot

Apart from Wladmir Klitschko who he stood toe to toe with (terrible strategy against a hall of famer), lucky left hook by Dillian Whyte when he was a novice in an emotional fight, and a couple of right hooks by Povetkin. Who else has hit him with a big shot?

Which heavyweight in history didn’t get hit?

Lennox Lewis was hit in almost all his fights and got sparked out cold by McCall and Rahman. Even Bruno hit him at will. Holyfield took a lot of punishment. Mike Tyson took a lot of punishment when he stepped up. Ali took a lot of punishment. Ditto Foreman and Frazier.

Wilder gets hurt with ordinary hook shots in almost every fight. Dulaphas, Molina, Fury and Breazeale hurt him. Ortiz had him out cold on his feet. Fury was knocked down by Cunningham and Deontay. McDermott beat him up badly in their first fight.

You meant Lewis got knocked out by McCall and Rahman not Grant as he easily destroyed.

That's why I predict AJ to annihilate Wilder probably within 6 rounds. And I wouldn't be surprised if it was earlier.

Joshua has an OK chin. Took a clean shot from Wlad and got up from KD.

Ruiz had fast hands that night. He closed the distance fast which made it tougher.

People really should credit Ruiz more than look for Aj's faults.

Ruiz got off the deck and whupped ass. I hope that part doesn't get lost in the psychoanalysis of AJ.

That was a key moment, and changed a lot of people's perceptions of Andy. Many fighters would've backed off to get a breather, tied up, or paced themselves. Andy saw it as an opportunity, and unleashed a salvo of counterpunches. That killer instinct is so important for challengers to have in order to take the belt(s) off of a champion.
