Why didn’t MAYWEATHER help, sell/promote PBC?

Mayweather chose Berto instead of giving Thurman the shine. Mayweather and Haymon somehow never strategized to combine TMT and PBC together. Why?

Al Haymon did so much for Mayweather and Showtime. Seems like Haymon devoted most his energy for Floyd even in post Pacquiao to McGregor...

He chose Berto to ensure he was undefeated for the 50th fight and fulfill his SHO contract. TMT and PBC are 2 separate ecompanies. They worked together when it was in their best interest to do so. PBC works with Mayweather Promotions now.

Two separate companies. No reason to help PBC

I remember there was some talk about Mayweather vs Berto being on CBS but Floyd's guarantee was too high for that to happen.

          Lol.

Really two different “companies?!” So if conflict of interest providing Ishe Smith, Tank Davis, or Badou Jack was never a problem, why didn’t Floyd fight his WBA Regular in Thurman?

Thurman was the defacto proxy for PBC’s stardom. Floyd beating Thurman would’ve left resonance for PBC. Isn’t Berto a PBC Fighter?

So since the 2015 PBC escapade, what’s been gained? Is Haymon satisfied?

I literally just posted it-to ensure he was undefeated for the 50th fight. My guess is they knew they were going to do McGregor thing.

I don't know that to be true. I believe it was Errol Spence who according to reports gave it to Floyd in sparring.

Yes he was a PBC fighter.

Keith has been hurt and out for a long time. In spite of that Haymon has signed new lucrative TV deals with FOX and SHO to broadcast his fights. My guess is he is satisfied that he has grown the business and no longer has to do time buys.

He would of just made it about himself. He's not even good at promoting his own fighters

He brought a lot of attention to the sport in general and to Al Haymon in particular, all these fighters signed with Haymon partially due to Floyd giving him shoutouts literally after every fight. Al made hundreds of millions off of Floyd and the beginning of the working relationship he has with Showtime now and showtime surviving in boxing is all because of the mega fights where everyone involved made hundreds of millions. That's more than enough "help".

The praise Floyd gave Errol Spence and that sparring story is one of the primary reasons why he is where he is today and he's one of the biggest stars they have right now and he's not even signed to Mayweather promotions.

Floyd sold himself, Haymon never promoted him and the PBC/showtime faction are very bad at building stars imo. With that reputation they got from working with Floyd which subsequently led to tonsd of great fighters signing with them they did a piss poor job imo. A lot of fighters could've been a lot bigger than they are and the sport could've gotten a lot more exposure which is good for everyone but they didn't take advantage and that's their problem.

Mayweather is his own man. When that guy said it you can believe him, not only by his talks but by his actions. When others say it like Wilder tries to now, you laugh at him especially when you see him sitting, silent or acting like a good ol boy to Espinoza and Finkel (His slave masters). Mayweather is a different kind of fish. So no one is going to tell Mayweather what to do. Can you imagine Espinoza or Finkel talking for Mayweather whilst he sits there like a mute? Can you imagine Team saying they have map out his next two or three fights? Nah, Mayweather is his own boss!
