"It makes sense to do it that way. They are both huge names in their territories. Why not give the fans in America what they want and give the British fans what they want, so I think it will happen, possibly both, but I don't know which way around."
But before Joshua can think about Wilder, he needs to impress the public in the United States.
"It starts with the fighting, his style, what he brings to the ring," Cunningham said. "The knockout will be the first part...
Seems like the tide is changing rapidly! Suddenly, Joshua sees the U.S. as an important market! 50/50 is becoming a reality! The last piece of the puzzle for Wilder...KO Tyson Fury!!! However, if Joshua does not get the KO at MSG, the 50/50 might be reality immediately!
The same people said that about Lewis vs Tyson. They had a deal for 2 fights, what was the point after Tyson got his arse handed to him.
Stop trying to rob the public if it is great and no dodgy draw.
All you fools moan about Canelo yet when he beat GGG after failing a drug test hey presto he is great again:*******:
Here goes the bull****. Why is there a need for a 2 fight deal and this is coming from AJ's side smh. What happens if there's a blowout/knockout and early. This fight needs to happen with no headaches. Wilder by KO
I don’t understand why it needs to be a two fight deal. If either guy wins the first fight convincingly, why tie yourself down to a rematch that isn’t gonna draw much interest? And if the first fight warrants a rematch, it’s not like they can’t negotiate for the second go round. Just seems like a lot of posturing and PR stuff going on on both sides right now. I’m a Wilder fan. But at this point right now, I think the AJ side probably wants the fight a little more. Because I think the Wilder-Fury rematch is in the works and gonna happened before either fights AJ.
Exactly, it makes no sense. Let the first one happen and let the ratings dictate if another is needed.
Wildtards in full power here Wildher asks for 2 way rematch and Wildtards cry it's only fair, Wildher gets 2 way rematch offer and Wildtards cry it's not fair Wildtards will do anything to stop this fight, Wildtards are afraid their daddy might lose so Wildtards only want Stiverne and Ortiz trilogy oh Wildtards you are adorable
Both would be entering the unification voluntarily.
It's hardly new for voluntary defences to include rematch clauses and as both hold belts it's rational they should both have that option.
Are we forgetting that way back when.. when the first offers were being tabled, that wilder and finkel threw a fit when there was no rematch offer on the table for wilder? But one for AJ?
If they felt the way most ( uneducated ) people here feel re: rematch clauses they wouldn't have kicked up such a fuss.
If there was no rematch clause and say Joshua in a hypothetical example ****** out wilder or vice versa in the 5th, or 6th, with scorecards even, the respective Dan bases of the loser would be crying for a rematch.
This takes care of it and nullifies the ability of either camp to not offer the chance of redemption.
Wilder fury had a rematch clause iirc, noone batted an eyelid then.
After being outboxed by Fury, Wilder won't fight Joshua until his team sees improvement in his boxing skills. They hope that in 2-3 fight he improves enough to give them some hope in Joshua fight. Hence why he's back to boxing basics with Jay Deas.
Joshua is no Fury. Doesn't stay on his toes flicking jabs like Fury does and is much slower. Styles make fights and Joshua, Wilder could go either way.

I believe they both want a rematch because both realize they could lose their title(s) If the first match is a blowout (either way) then there is nothing to say the loser couldn't waive their right to the rematch.
Parker lost the fight but the referee favored Joshua by allowing him to hold which probably won Joshua some rounds.
I truly believe the referees involvement helped Parker more than it did aj. Aj is very dangerous on the inside and as soon as they got close the ref would jump in
