What? Jones had excellent boxing skills. His weaknesses were a weak chin and sometimes being overly cautious, but boxing wise he was elite, it wasn't just his athleticism that made him great.

Wilder is offensively skilled rather than defensively skilled.

He's brilliant at reading opponents and setting up big shots.

Punching wise maybe in all other areas no Robinson, Tyson and Roy Jones hold thoses claims.

I think Mike Tyson is up there as well but he had great boxing mentorship from the time he was a young teen, something Deyontay never got.
That title belongs to Roy Jones Jr, still. Maybe Wilder can change that in the future.

Fundamentally, Mike Tyson is the opposite of what I would consider a guy getting by on "natural" talent. His talent was born out of training and hard work.

Deontay Wilder might have the best power to weight ratio, but that's about it.

Tyson was genetically blessed everywhere but height.

This was Mike Tyson at 15

He was already a man when most his age hadn't started shaving yet.

He was a hard worker (initially) but 99.999% of the population wouldn't have the physical readiness to be heavyweight champ at barely 20.
