Comments Thread For: Donaire: Figuring Out How To Beat Naoya Inoue Gets Me Excited!

It's been a busy weekend for Nonito Donaire, but he wouldn't have it any other way-right down to having to face one the sport's very best for his next ring adventure. The four-division champ and reigning two-time bantamweight titlist spent back-to-back nights watching from ringside the latest victories by an opponent from his past and one in his immediate future. One fight after watching Ryan Burnett return to the win column with a win in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Donaire touched down in Glasgow, Scotland to witness the final leg of the World Boxing Super Series bantamweight tournament semifinals.

Donaire has all the experience to make this fight interesting. If he can use that to get past the early rounds he might have a real chance in this fight.

I can't see Donaire competing well here, but I hope he does. Inoue just looks too quick, sharp and powerful. I could imagine Inoue coming out a bit too aggressive for his own good though and possibly catching a powerful Donaire counter, so this fight maybe well have some sparks. The one thing that worried me the most about the post-fight meeting this weekend was how enamored Donaire seemed to be with Inoue. He was positively gushing about him and kept wanting to hug (and maybe kiss) him. Inoue, meanwhile, seemed all business. I hope when it happens that Donaire is more than just happy to be there.

Donaire High IQ cerebral fighter. Once was top 10 pfp. Long time ago. Might have strategy see openings but is old now slower will be overpowered by Monster. 8 rounds the most. Any Donaire takers?

I don't give Donaire much of a shot here but he has that left hand that can change the fight instantly. I think Inoue will avoid that and land his own bomb first.

If anyone is going to beat Inouye, they'll have to do it very early in the fight. Once he's figured out his opponent's rhythm it's pretty much all over, and it doesn't seem to take him long to do it either.

the Japanese Monster is going full Godzilla on Nonito. I like Nonito but his body is too old to handle Inoue's power

An old Donaire is better than any rival of Inoue at this moment in his career

Donaire has timing and power, he is not that fast like in his prime but has timing

The fight will be amazing and funny

Inoue is not super fast, Rodríguez landed some Big punches but Rodríguez is a sh.it without skills and defense

I hope AJ is ringside for the Donaire fight so he can step in to the ring afterwards and square off with Inoue
