Sam Watson Almost Pulled a Eddie Hearn

What was he thinking here? The referee had not officially called the fight off yet. And he was a little too excited after the fight considering Breazeale is also a Haymon fighter. Usually if there is a fight between two Haymon fighters, he will actually stand next to the loser, but not today. Breazeale has to feel ticked off here. I mean first Sam Watson does this and out right starts celebrating for Wilder and then Jim Gray blasts Breazeale in front of his face basically.

there are so many conflicts of interest when a Haymon fighter faces another Haymon fighter

Sam needs to be professional and respectful here. He usually is. Notice how he will go to the loser first and stand behind them for their interviews, but this time around it was clear who he was rooting for. I mean I get it, Wilder means a WHOLE a lot more for the company, but at least act like you are neutral lol.

        Valid point
        That’s what blows my mind
Cause of the fughin networks , not only do we’ve not get THE best fights but then bullchit like this happens
I’d rather the promoters start working with one another and compromise the networks
        I know , wishful thinking

I think you're reaching on the disrespect to Breaze angle but it was wildly unprofessional for him to jump on the apron before the fight was waved off.

Jim disrespecting Breaze was a separate issue.

Why though? Like tell me when you see Sam Watson out right celebrating when you have two Haymon fighters against each other? This isn't Wilder facing Joshua or Fury, this is him facing another client of Haymon....Who Watson works for. Technically, he should have equal love for both fighters.

Yea, yea. There are no winners or losers and everyone gets a prize, right?

Sam was right next to Wilder so he jumped up and celebrated with the winner for a moment. I'm sure he checked on Breaze at some point and and gave him words of encouragement but this scenario of conflict and injustice you're trying to create is silly. You gotta see that. This is a brutal sport and there are winners and losers. Don't expect a lot of coddling and tiptoeing.

This has nothing to do with winner, losers or whatever the hell you're talking about. Breazeale like Wilder, is a Haymon client. You could say he got caught up in the moment and that is fair. But for Watson, he is almost always neutral in fights like this and always goes to the loser first. It could just be that he knew how much Wilder means to the PBC and the future potential fights for him so he wanted him to win. But if you're Breazeale, you can't be happy about it, agreed?

You're acting way too soft. These guys know what comes with the territory and that losing is going to suck. I don't think Breazeale expects to be coddled the way you think he does.

You're looking at this from a different angle. BOTH fighters were Haymon clients. Why are you talking about being coddled? Watson shouldn't be celebrating like that when the loser is also his fighter. If that is the case, then he should celebrate every time a fighter wins right? When Spence fights Porter and if Spence stops him like this, he should jump in the ring celebrating right? Except he won't, like he never does… aside from today for whatever reason.
