If you didn't have a chance to listen to Shelly Finkels most recent interview on The Boxing Voice, its pretty obvious.
Towards the end, rather than provide a direct answer that would squash all skeptism regarding their supposed $50mil. "Offer" He responded with a rhetorical question of "let me ask you this, has Shelly Finkel and Al Haymon ever not come through on what they promised"? Answer is no
Finkel responds, "then we should be given a benefit of a doubt...."
(I'm paraphrasing this because Im too lazy to relaunch the podcast and find the exact spot where this came up)
Deontay Wilder has been Deontay Wilder, full of contradictions to a point where I've will overlook a lot of his "self incriminating" comments as just more nonsense.
Its kind of funny to me because, it turns out that in his recent interviews, Finkel and not Wilder himself has IMO placed his team in checkmate over the whole situation.Comment

In regards to the debate over who's worth what tying in also to which side seems to be avoiding an actual matchup(and not constantly bringing it up to the media). I ask that we seriously consider the following statements...
"First it was $12.5mill, then it was $15mill..... I know in time its going to get even bigger"
"I have the best team behind me...These guys have been in the business for over 60 years combined"(paraphrasing)
"Listen, what he have on our side is history, and history tells us we made the right decision..."(paraphrase)
"Kings chase kings, I want Joshua"
"They wouldnt tell us what Joshua is getting"
"We would have taken that fight for $15mill"
Be patient and let us do what we need to do in order for us to make it the biggest fight and make the most money possible......"
There's quite a few more, but hopefully these are enough examples for my closing statement.
Its been well repeated by both Wilder and Finkel that his team has concern for the best interest for Wilder, and that they also have the best/most experience in the business and that their history proves it.
IMO, with those statements in mind, it reinforces my conclusion that there is absolutely no possible reason for me to believe that Team Wilder would have signed for a fight back then and even now because it would completely go against their self proclaimed experience and history. So they basically backed themselves "between a rock and a hard place".
Either their past statements are true and they are full of it now and are surprisingly inexperienced and not very intelligent, or the past statements are basically lies and orchestrated as a plan based on their successful history, yrs of experience and intelligence to try and make the most money possible for themselves.Comment
