It wasn't about anyone ducking someone. Both guys are with Haymon, Mayweather on the way out and Thurman the young champ and future of the division at the time. It would not serve Haymon's interest to have Floyd fight and beat Thurman and blunting his future star power etc. Now you can say the exposure from fighting Floyd would have bolstered Thurman's profile but if he lost, he would have just been another guy that wasn't ready. The alternative which is what played out was Thurman creating his own path without piggybacking off of a Mayweather fight.

no, i read it well. i think it's you who need to re-read what i wrote. a green canelo and weight draining him didnt stop floyd from going on with the fight even though he was gonna get trashed for it. hell, floyd fought berto for his last fight. i dont think floyd cares about the "critics".. the man even said so himself, fight smarter not harder.

C'mon Fam where you been. Thurman was calling for Floyd all over the place. Was mandatory to his wbc ww title for a minute. Did Floyd even mention the possibility of boxing him?

Thurman was just as worthy as Berto, Ortiz, Guerrero or Madonna imo
