I've known a fair few people in my time who's parents were pastors/preachers, cops, doctors, lower level politicians, military officers etc. In the vast majority of those cases the apple fell very far from the tree.

I was going to write pretty much the same thing, so I'll write something else instead.
I wonder if putting a body on his record would help or hinder him in achieving his stated goal to "make boxing bigger than it's ever been" which he was quoted as saying in an article posted to this site YESTERDAY. It screams contrived.
      King of cringe, this guy.

The hypocrisy of the sport.....everybody wants to see a knock out but no one wants to hear a person can die from it

As for his brain being big enough to fit a spaceship he must be telling the truth as he has only said that once.

I recall Wilder saying all American men are sensitive now you are saying Joshua fans are. I don’t know who to believe you or him?
Believe Ray. He is the smartest mf on NSB. Most importantly, believe your bruvs in the Joshualite consortium. I don't think some of them could take your dissention.

He's got a caution for leading a gang round to threaten a woman and child.

Given the number of public death threats he's given out, would him murdering someone in a roid rage attack be such a surprise?

I'm actually suprised the WBC haven't dropped this fight, if Dominic dies they get a huge negligence court case.
He is a threat to society! Someone should call one of those American cops on him. They'll k ow what to do! Right? He is a "thug". Just say it. It will make you feel better.

That said it's not like we're playing tiddlywinks and croquet over here. It's not even like it's unprecedented either, if you think back to Tyson saying "If I don't kill him, it don't count" when he fought Tyrell Biggs. It's really only a step or so removed from threatening to knock your opponent out cold, put him in the hospital, or end his career, and all of these are routine trash talk soundbites. To act like a shrinking violet and claim that what he said was beyond the pale doesn't really fly when this is a sport where people pay to watch guys batter one another upside the head. Again, I don't even think that what Wilder said was tasteful or sensible at all, but I think it's exposed some strange hypocrisies and warped sensibilities.
EXACTLY! Couldn't give you green k because apparently I already did, but this is exactly it. Wilder is being too real about what should be obvious to every fan and watcher of the sport: these are two fully-grown, powerful men throwing punches at each other's heads!

For Breazeale, just because you want the other guy not to be seriously injured by the end of the fight, doesn't mean you weren't throwing punches with bad intentions that had the potential to kill your opponent the entire fight... If you actually think about it and take responsibility for what you are engaging in, Breazeale's quote below makes no sense. EVERY HEAVYWEIGHT BOXING CHAMP IS WANTING TO HARM ANOTHER INDIVIDUAL BY THE MERE FACT OF ENGAGING IN A FIGHT. Just because you say you don't want to hurt anyone, doesn't change the reality of the situation.

"There is no way you can get behind a heavyweight champ who wants to put harm on another individual or take another man's life or put them in a coma," Breazeale said. "That just doesn't make any sense and that's not the barbaric state of mind that any champion should be in."

Did you keep that same energy about sensitive people when aj made that “disgrace to the superior black race” remark
The answer to your question is YES. I don't give a sh it about a man I don't know character. I watch them fight, muse about why they haven't fought or what it would be like if they did, and continue living my best life.

Oh and my view on the "negative" nature of Wilders comments is well stated.

YES, you said it much more succinctly than I did. But that's it right there.

It would hinder him as a fighter and his stated goal in my view.
