he probably realizes he's never going to go down as an all time great boxer now so he's going to collect that money. he tried to nibble here and there and slowly but surely built that hype but his resume is not really that good. constantly changing divisions and going for easy belts only gets you so far.

eventually you have to fight another "real one" and he didnt want lomachenko so he tried for spence and hoped for a miracle. maybe he even thought it was possible to win that one but by round 3 he quickly realized that wasnt the case so he packed it in to make money for another day.

danny garcia is beatable though and not a top ww so this could secure him 2 big money fights without ever having to beat a top guy. perfect!

Danny is definitely beatable, and am sure he thinks he taken Mikey out easily. The fight just doesn't make any sense to any fan, just like the Spence/Garcia fight doesn't.

And coming off his lame performance at 147 in the spence fight, this fight might not do well from a PPV point of view. He is a good little fighter but not good enough for 147 fighters (Unless they were coming up from 140 like Danny.)

Here goes Mikey Garcia again. I assumed that after getting ridiculed in the fight versus Spence - a fight that everybody except himself saw as a huge mismatch mainly because of the size - he would refrain from jumping into the ww division without testing the waters a bit more. Danny is as strong and dangerous at the division as they come. Mikey is setting himself up for disappointing his fans once again

Danny got a clear loss vs thurman imo. Scorecards were bad. There is no narrative to sell this. Two fighters who have recent losses.

There will be no beef in the build up
