I've never had THAT much of an issue with it although admittedly in the prime days of the Floyd vs Manny sh^t & as a Grand Rapids, MI cat who's alliances was firmly on Floyd's side I definitely had more Manny hate then I'd ever have for someone now. And honestly by the time they fought I had long since cooled off on Manny....I feel like anyway. Certainly in the aftermath of the fight I distanced myself from that approach.

I see plenty of people who can appreciate both sides of a fight even if they dig one guy more & have always been that way even in heated rivalry's like Floyd vs Manny.

I do think some people's enjoyment of boxing lands in the field of hating the competition to their preferred fighters or preferred styles of boxers even at times. And honestly I think all sports has those types of fans. There are plenty & probably more NFL guys who love "their team" & hate all the teams in their teams conference or w/e or a specific rivalry so while its a bit much to read mfers who constantly sh^t on a boxer, which always seems more personal then sh^tting on a whole team, if its done with some humor, some caliber of reasonableness & a coloring within the lines level of respectability fair play to them for enjoying boxing how they happen to enjoy it with some sh^tting on the opposition.

I think it says a lot about the emotional intelligence & maturity of fans who can't separate "rooting" for their guy from hating their guy's nemesis.

I actually end up becoming a bigger fan of the fighter that beats the fighter I really like, provided the guy is not very unlikable. It happened with Pacquiao, I started out rooting for Barrera, Marquez, Morales, etc. At some point throughout Manny's career I just started rooting for him.

I still have some favorites, but generally I'm a bug fans of a lot of fighters with different fan bases.

Fury and the stuff you mention there is utter cringe. Wilder and his bronze mask too - that s**t is for wrestling fans.

I'd take a real, straight talking honest personality in boxing over that toe curling crap every day of the week.
