Pacquiao vs Thurman is a passing of the torch fight.

Pacquiao is 40 years old. Prime for Prime it's hard not to imagine Pacman giving Thurman all he could handle and possibly even stopping him but now? This fight should be a wash/clear victory for Thurman. Thurman for all the crap he does and gets(deservedly so, him outside of Crawford is the toughest fight at WW for him, and i'll explain why)

1.) Keith Thurman has an extremely high ring IQ, and will continuously frustrate Pacquiao with his footwork.

2.) Pacquiao hasn't faced a puncher in a while(slow ass Matthysse who couldn't land doesn't count, and even in his prime doesn't pop as hard as Thurman) His chin will hold up but it would make him extremely hesitant. This will be the first "hard" puncher he's fought in a very long time.

3.) Pacquiaos reflexes have slowed down greatly, this will allow him to be countered and led into traps.

4.) Thurmans "body" issue imho is largely overstated and I'd say has more to do with his long layoffs than having a glass body.Same with chin

5.) Even though Pacquiao is vastly superior to Lopez in everyway. Lopez has a '72 reach, which is damned long, and he was able to catch Thurman at the end of his punch. By Comparison, Manny's pacquaios reach is a full fist about 7 inches less. Which is about a full fist shorter. Thurman will make him reach, and make him pay.

6.) The guy is 40 and a part time senator.

7.) Thurman had been calling out Pacquiao/Mayweather for years and honestly should have got a fight with either one years ago as he had earned it. This is Haymon/PBC/Showtime giving Thurman the opportunity of a lifetime.

TS makes a good point although I think Spence/Manny or Crawford/Manny would've been more of a "passing of the torch" fight since most think those 2 would destroy Manny easily.

I think a lot of people saw Thurman's last fight and are giving Manny a real shot to beat Thurman in July to set up a 3 belt unification fight with the winner of Spence/Porter.

I don't think if Manny won he would do that, I think he would retire and ride out into the sunset unless they paid him north of 60 million + percentages to fight Spence(i'm assuming he beats Porter)

Mathysse hits harder than Thurman end of discussion. That he was not able to land has no effect on how much his punching power is lol

I disagree. Manny wins then he either fights Spence or Floyd next. I assume Spence but if this fight were to somehow do north of 600k PPV's (I predict 400-450k) and Manny wins then my guess is Floyd comes back because that would project the rematch would sell enough so Floyd can make his 9 figure payday.

A Manny win would make him at least another $50 mil as either the A side to Spence or the B side to Floyd.

Thurman was showing vulnerability to the body before the long layoffs. And I don't see how his chin would be affected by layoffs. I think one can either take a good shot or one can't.

I believe that Manny isn't going to retire until he gets thoroughly beaten. Him facing the top young talent will facilitate this and generate some major interest. However, will a Floyd vs Manny rematch be able to sell much? I know I won't buy it.

Thurman's movement and volume punching will beat Pacquiao. Keith always rises to the occasion in big fights. I remember after the Collazo fight a lot of people were down on him similar to how they are now, and picked him to lose vs Porter.

Pac wont lose since One Time hasnt fought a rival with the level of Manny (DSG, Showtime Shawn) in more than 2 years meanwhile Pacquiao has been active

The passing of the torch from Pac-Man happens if he gets the Errol Spence fight, Hell even Swift Garcia & Showtime Shawn Porter can retire him
