Hurd desperately needs to learn how to move his head. I cringe at what his brain must have looked like after that fight if we were to do an X-ray. Let's not even talk about how much he must be getting hit throughout camp. He needs to learn how to wiggle his head out of the way or turn his head and redirect the force. He eats more flush shots than anybody I've seen at that level in a while.

TBH, Hurd’s defense is worse than Munguia’s. They both block punches w/t their faces but Hurd is on another level dude will be 29 yrs old this yr @ this point in his career it might be too late for him to ever develop the require head movement to become an elite fighter. Hurd needs to move up to 160 lbs already draining his body to make 154 lbs is starting to effect his performance.

It reminded of Berto corner in the 1st Ortiz. His trainer, father, and brother all screaming nonsense at him

Let us all give credit to J rock.
With that said Team Hurd was a disaster. Besides the Vasoline dilemma they gave him horrible instructions, like tell your fighter about his head placement inside.
Now Hurds management team can’t have a inadequate corner.
They did nothing to slow the bleeding above the right eye.
Then the left eye gets cut and they have no answer there either.
I know there are not many Great cut men left anymore
Team Hurd got a big Fat F last night.
That cutman will not make you forget about Al Gavin or Joe Souza anytime soon.

Putting vaseline on his eye twice was bad and pretty embarrassing lol. Hurd started the round just retreating the ropes and taking a beating and that probably cost him the round.

Overall JRock was just the better man. We shall see when they run it back the type of adjustments Hurd can make.

To watch Hurd’s corner and then Dogboe’s father you realize that who is in your corner makes the difference in a long career and a short one. When you get to the top level of this sport make sure you got guys with you that know what they are doing.

Keep your original people, stay loyal, but make sure you add one or two pros to your corner. It’s worth the extra money.

Gotta love the bib and water ball they had in the corner. lol
Instructing your boxer to move his head when you really have not taught him head movement throughout his career is futile .
Moving your head should be an instinct

The Vaseline debacle was BS. They also kept telling him to shorten his punches. They should've told him to step back and stop smothering his own punches.

They never had a plan B. I don't think I've ever seen Williams fight this well but they should've expected him to step it up another level since it was for the championship.

Amateur hour for Jarrett Hurd’s corner!

Had that man going out to fight with Vaseline in his eye twice, luckily the second time the ref caught to it and stopped the fight and got the corner to deal with it and that annoying loose tape on his gloves!

They didn’t even seem to know how stop letting the tape come undone on the gloves!

Lots of decisions for Hurd to make while he recovers and relaxes!
