this applies to munguia too, if he doesn't get a better defense, he might get KO'd by the first tough opponent he fights (he hasn't fight anyone yet)

I believe the weight cutting had a lot to do with Hurd last night
His power shots were not their , meaning after a few shots he wouldn’t let his hands go , seems to me like he was exhausted
I know Hurd doesn’t have the greatest defence but last night was ridiculous
Maybe the weight cutting is really getting to him , maybe changing trainer can also help but mostly the weight cutting imo

Levels in opponents can make a difference. If he is fighting bums or the Welborn of this world then it is a cool style to get fans on your side. Once you get to that level of opponents then you need to relax your style a bit, I have seen that with Kef thurman and in a way Anthony Joshua of recent.

I don't think there is some point of no return with brain injuries for everyone. I think a guy could get hit for the first time ever & get f#cked up for life & another guy could take a million punches & not show much if any lasting impact on him. Like most everything there is levels to this sh^t. Maybe Hurd is closer to being that first guy than to being that 2nd guy, but who's gonna know til there is some science that can tell us that or til Hurd is all f#cked up in 15 years? Idk that anyone can know that currently.

That said I definitely think if you are on the bad end of that CTE spectrum I'm suggesting exists then your fighting style is for sure making you more likely or less likey to suffer lifelong damage from boxing. And guys like Hurd or Munguia & others who think defense is a bad word are at greater risk of CTE/brain damage.

              ... pretty much this ^^^...

... I don't really think that Hurd actually realized what happened to him on Saturday... but maybe, now, after re-watching the fight several times, he would... (and he doesn't seem to be a ****** guy)...

At what point does it become, "If you can't learn to defend yourself, you may as well retire?" Another 3 or 4 years of consistently getting pounded in the face and head and this guy is going to be a vegetable.
Definitey, reminds me a little of a Ricardo Mayorga with skills.
