Seems like of the people commenting on this thread - you have the sensible people who agree women should not be reffing physical men's sports.

And most of the detractors are probably small men who feel offended by that assertion. I bet every guy on here against it is under 5'9 lol

And it's not even about getting pus.sy - it's about safety in this regard and there is no way I would trust any woman to get involved in a fight between two grown men. They genetically aren't strong enough. Crazy anyone would try to argue against that.
What if it's a trans? (I know, that's not a woman, but they say they are, and they're strong enough to handle the men so...does that count?)

Like what if Fallon Fox was up in there reffing? Would you still have a problem with it?

Long as she knows what she is doing and she is capable of getting inbetween both guys (not that way) when needed to enforce the rules. I certainly don't think being a boxing ref is the job for your average 5ft4 100lb girl.

I have 0 issue with a type of strength-performance related test for a ref to see if they are physically capable of being a ref at certain levels. If a woman can do it, I'm OK with that. The problem is almost always in those situations (military is a good example) they ease the standards for women which I think is terrible in a combat situation, be it in the military or combat sports.

So yeah if that guy was still basically a guy and could pass the tests that's fine with me. May need to pass a mental health test as well imo. Not sure what all types of hormones a lot of trans are on as well.

The problem here imo is we are in a society where people say 'hey a woman can do that job buddy, so what' and they should be saying 'hey a woman can do that job, if she physically qualifies for it' and often times she can't physically qualify for it. I think it endangers the athletes. A woman being too slow/weak to stop a fight could cost a guy his life.

Good post, I agree. I personally feel like the woman I saw reffing last night was not fit to ref a fight between two 175 pound men. Maybe she could have reffed a couple 100 pound men. Just my 2 cents.

Having dated a female MP and who has two female friends who are retired military, I can say for certain that not all positions are eased. It depends on the position. Some are, not all. The ones that are definitely should be.

BT is a different thing. I frankly think they should just get rid of it entirely, and set daily fitness standards and be done with it.

Back in high school, girls AND guys had to do the same number of pushups and situps and pullups and laps. And they all did it. Weight lifting is different, but a woman could certainly squat at least 200 lbs if she trained at a basic level.

As to the last statement, I don't know. You got male refs who can't seem to break up fights in time all the same. Not sure that really matters. Fighters have died on Tony Weeks' watch. That's going to happen regardless - and some of it's on the corner too.
