Is Mick Conlan the least hyped/exciting prospect?

This guy doesn't seem to have many talking about him.

Teofimo is 6 years younger with about the same amount of fights yet is getting crazy hype. Even 20 year olds Haney and Ryan Garcia are more hyped.

Is it because he's not a big puncher?

Bad mistake for him signing to Top Rank.

People don't usually get too excited about nugget-sized boxers in general.

He's just not THAT good to be honest. TR has tried and has had him headlining cards on ESPN but he just doesn't shine. He's also a guy who turned pro at a later age than the others so he had less potential than say a Stevenson who was still a young pup in the Olympics or a Lopez who had more of a pro style than an amateur style.

He seems like he's still a work in progress. Doesn't look that good yet.

Maybe he can develop more. Maybe he never will.

I'd guess he got a **** ton of cash signing with Top Rank, so I doubt hes complaining there. But with hindsight Warren would probably been a much better fit, would have been able to capitalise on his fame much better. Look at Conlan's social media followings 130k+ compared to Lopez 11k. He could have headlined every card from the off, America wouldn't have put up with that **** though

They have him a real push. And gave him all the headlines coming out of the Olympics. He’s very skilled, but he’s still a bit of a amateur style. He’s improved tho. And his aggression is up. He’s slick so he’s not as a appealing as a KO artist. But I think it’s a combination of his style and lack of charisma. But they should start pushing him to fight a top guy.

Really? I felt like Conlan got far too much press for his Olympic controversy. Seems kinda Amir Khanish to me but who knows?

I mean either he was going to be good enough or not right? TR will get him a title shot and he will have to come through. Don't see how TR was a bad choice for him as they have the best history from any promoter of taking a prospect from scratch and moving them right way. Conlan just hasn't made strides in the pro game and has let fellow Olympians like Stevenson and Lopez out shine him. Not sure what Warren would be able to do for him that Arum can't.
