Why did GGG and Jacobs let Lil’Canelo walk them down?

Yet it was still Canelo that ended up on the ropes at one point. Walking down somebody usually implies you put them where you want. Canelo came forward but he didn't corner him or make him fight off the ropes. Golovkin was free to keep circling him in the middle of the ring which was completely different than what Canelo did in the first fight. The overwhelming majority of the fight took place around the center of the ring so I'm confused when this walking down occurred.Comment

How did he beat him up when Gee was on the receiving end of the majority of the notable power punches of the fight? How many times was GGG against the ropes? Zero times.
When GGG fought a pressure style vs Canelo and put him against the ropes, beat him up all night the judges scored it a draw.
Of course GGG took a different approach in fight 2, if he cant get a win that way, he fought a different style and boxed more.
Lets not forget that GGG is 36 years old, an age where Canelo himself wants to be long retired, Canelo himself dropped his belt because he knew GGG would obliterate him.
He got outlanded in power punches as well
You geetards are a special bunch

Walking a fighter down involves pushing the other fighter back by coming constantly forward and moving them out of the center of the ring preferably to the ropes where you have an advantage. Moving forward and having the other guy side step you or step back periodically, never abandoning the ring center is not walking him down. Problem with you guys is you don't have a clue what your talking about. Walking a guy down is what Golovkin did in the first fight where Canelo completely left the center of the ring to go to the ropes.Last edited by TonyGe; 05-10-2019, 12:32 PM.Comment

I didn't see your post prior to this and I just posted pretty much what you said. The problem is these guys simply don't know what they are talking about.Yet it was still Canelo that ended up on the ropes at one point.
