everything is basically there except for the combinations he use to throw at 135. You see it from time to time but the blazing 5-6 punch combo's are yesterdays newspaper. The speed is still there though. His foot speed has somewhat diminished.

so je is still basicly the same shane just older and a little slower. His punches wer fast and crisp and he was throwing more than 1 punch at a time. I can't really imagine 5-6 combo with power thats just crazy ****.

remember the antonio diaz fight when he peppered him at madison square garden. That is the Shane of old, the Shane that schooled Oscar Delahoya in that first fight. It also reflects on the opponent and Fernando Vargas didnt really pose that much of a challenge. It's easy to throw combinations against a guy so stationary like Vargas.

Shane was nasty and people loved him because he was so exciting. You just dont see styles like his come along very often. He's not really a boxer, he's a flurry guy and nothing is more exciting then seeing a guy throw a 7 punch combo with vicious power at the end.

I wish he wouldve never jumped from 135 to 147. I think he wouldve been great at 140 and it wouldve been awesome to see him fight guys like Tszyu & Zab there.

His reflexes were sharpe, his speed was crazy, and his power was insane

totally agree. Shane was never a boxer. He was more a pure boxer-brawler who looked like he was brawling with technical skills. I guess Shanes dad refers to it as "Power boxing" lol.

I've been so up and down on my opinion of Mosley over the years it's ridiculous. I never thought much of him because I wasn't impressed with his stint at lightweight. Of course, he knocked out like 10 challengers to his title in a row. But I guess he felt it wasn't a big deal either because he moved up to 147 and beat DLH in a well deserved decision by outhustling him. Now I never thought much of Mosley as a boxer. I considered him a very flashy and fast fighter who won fights by being aggressive and not letting up on his opponents, which is how he beat DLH and got so many lightweight knockouts. now most of the experts like Merchant say he was an amazing lightweight so I'll accept that. I did not think much of him for the last 4 years as he lost to Forrest and Winky twice and should have lost to DLH in 2003. His first fight with Vargas wasn't impressive either as Vargas was coming on strong until the eye hindered his performance, which is why I picked Vargas to win the rematch. After seeing Mosley completely dominate in the rematch, I'm confused again. It's like he degraded for a few years and suddenly got better again. Or maybe it's just the level of opponents he's fought. One thing is for sure: put him in with Mayweather and you will find out how good he really is. If he can hang and make it close, he's a great fighter. If he gets dominated, he probably isn't.

I think Vargas last night made him look better than he is right now but theres no doubt he is still near the top. Your right though...he's a hard one to figure sometimes. One thing I remember was after the 2 back to back losses to Forrest he fought Raul Marquez where he was also losing at the time of the stoppage. Do you remember that fight ? it was ruled a no contest. Is Shanes style just taylor made for only certain fighters?

Shane can't make 135 but his confidence is back....the kind he had pre-forrest and he is a force to be reckon with at 147 or 154....especially 147 if he chooses to go back and be as aggresive as he was last night.
