In short.. yeah, it is too late. Don't get me wrong, Golovkin's style should age relatively well. But it takes a year or two to get completely acclimated to the new trainer. By that time, Golovkin will be 39.
TBH I think Golovkin made the most of a relatively crappy situation he ended up. Sanchez was doing a good job promoting him and building him up, so he needed that to get a big fight. He couldn't replace Sanchez between Canelo fights, as that's a recipe for disaster. Now that he can replace him, it's late. -
Think so? I feel like Golovkin has always had the tools, but that the gamelans and coaching from Sanchez were holding him back. In really excited to see him with a new trainer. His cardio is exceptional for his age and he hasn't been in a lot of wars so I think there's time for him.Comment
