(1) Fury was clearly carrying some excess fat around his midrif, but even then, looking in shape does not tell the whole story. Losing that amount of weight that suddenly can only be a negative factor and to suggest that his previous obesity would have had no impact on his overall health is madness. For instance consider the state of his blood vessels which were no doubt full of fatty deposits, consider the state of his overall cardiovascular system.Originally posted by WBC WBA IBF(1) Fury was in great shape, had his best performance ever before his layoff, took two tune ups upon his return and looked just as good in his return as he did before the layoff.
(2) As opposed to Klitschko, who looked terrible before his layoff and took no tune ups upon his return.
(3) Ortiz doesn't have a heart condition, unless you consider PEDs a heart condition. If so, Povetkin has the same affliction.
(4) As for obesity, Fury weighed 256 pounds at 6' 9" for his last fight. Joshua's next oppnent weighed 262 pounds at 6' 2" for his last fight.
As for “his best performance ever before his layoff”; that was before the layoff so it’s not relevant to Fury’s health at the point of the Wilder fight.
(2) why, whenever defending Wilder do you feel the need to bring up comparisons with Joshua? It weakens your argument considerably because it shows that you’re not looking at the actual facts in the Wilder case objectively but rather being swayed by a desire to demonstrate that Wilder is superior to Joshua. Look at the facts; not how they relate to Joshua. We’re not discussing Joshua.
(3) my bad, I meant high blood pressure which he was medicating for.
(4) you’re trying to manipulate the facts again. No one has argued that Fury was obese during the fight. He was morbidly obese shortly prior to the fight which certainly would have impacted his performance. Fury and Ruiz’s fight weights are of no moment.Comment
