  • PBC/Haymon at it again: Browne fights shot Pascale instead Bivol/Gvozdyk for a title

Marcus Browne is #1 mandatory for Gvozdyk and Bivol to become world champion. Both are ready to face Browne next and Browne made alot of noise a couple months ago calling out Teddy Atlas and Gvozdyk claiming he wants to fight him next.

But whats happening? Apparently the typical PBC/Haymon misery. Browne is not allowed to fight for a title on another network and has to fight another inhouse opponent instead. He'll fight shot Jean Pascale instead who was knocked out twice by Kovalev 3-4 years ago and lost to Bivol and Alvarez already. It makes no sense whatsoever.

Yet again boxing fans are robbed of a great fight and a PBC fighter is deprived of becoming a world champion.

    Thanks Al Haymon.

Yeah its bull****. Total waste of time while Bivol and Gvozdyk are available and don't have a fight scheduled.

That makes zero sense. He doesn't need a "stay busy fight". Bivol is available to fight him right now.

That still doesn't explain why Browne is fighting Pascal. Nice try though.

He’s fighting him because Bivol just fought him. His team wants to see how he does against familiar opponent. New to boxing? Not like Bivol is fighting anyone relevant anyway. So why can’t Bivol-Gvozdyk fight each other is Haymon blocking that like he blocked Ortiz-Whyte and Fury-Wilder II? Oh wait that was Arum and Hearn.
