  • That seems about right and for boxing that is SOLID BUT you would think you can get those numbers higher with it only being $20.

Again and I keep posting this but Boxing IN GENERAL have problems not just PBC, not just DAZN, not just Top Rank/ESPN. This sport struggles with that younger Demographic badly here in the US, also this sport is not building or grabbing the attention of NEW FANS. If Anything the sport is losing the interest of fans and a lot of them prefer UFC instead

Boxing have work to do when it comes to reaching a new audience and KEEPING a new Audience attention

But 300K-1 million views is the usual for Boxing Events honestly only Mayweather was able to push it above that. Boxing don't have that type of guy right now unfortunately but eventually somebody will emerge and become that Villain of boxing

As for DAZN, just have to try and build upon that, Canelo vs GGG III should be able to draw more than that

Canelo is a huge star and draw. He basically saved Eddie Hearn and DAZN's azzz because remember no fighters were signing with DAZN until Canelo did it in Oct. Now their boxing content is about 5X better then what it was because of Canelo alone. He by himself directly brought Golden Boy's roster, then GGG (who followed just in hopes of fighting him). then indirectly other small signings after Canelo gave DAZN credibility.
well yeah, and this also proves that streaming is the NOW ppv and cable tv is dead.

Now let's see how many of the say 300-350k that got DAZN just for the fight stay long term.
Im not so sure id be bragging about those numbers if I was DAZN.1.2 mil at their peak, meaning their biggest fight so far, and with their price not sure that quite adds up.Like you already pointed out how many will stay after this month, and did they get free trial? Its early still, but they got a lot of money on table already I hope it works out because the price is right, but I would have thought they would have done better.I think Canelo v Jacobs beats that 600 thou USA on PPV, and at 80+ a pop.I think it would have done close to a mil on FOX PPV, but like I said I hope it works in long run.

But thinking about it, that may be accurate. They may have only had 300-400k subscribers heading into the fight.
Hate to say it but you guys could be a lot farther off than you think. The report says 600k concurrent streams, but it doesn't say how many were pre-existing or new. However it also doesn't indicate how many of those streams were coming from the same account. Every subscriber can use 2 streams during live events. It's also possible that when they say "concurrent", they are talking about the number of accounts that were using both streams, so that'll be 300k subscribers using 2 streams each, and you still won't know how many of the 300k were pre-existing. So as I said, your guesstimates could be way off.

Sure, but what % are doing that? I'll take the under on 50%.

So looks like Pugmire is hearing they have around 600,000 subscribers. That sounds more accurate than them hitting a million after this fight.
Im pretty sure they have less than 600k. They are reporting streams, not subscribers. Every Subscriber can stream the live event twice. The question is, How many of the 600k was a single subscriber using 2 streams?

                  • So less than the first GGG fight and $70 cheaper. This isn't sustainable.

There are no more free trials that ended in like january lol And 600K isn't all their subscribers that's just who watched it live. DAZN probably got closer to 1M subscribers. DAZN isn't trying to sell 1 big event they are trying to build a long term screaming service with renewal income every month/every year. Like Spotify and Netflix.
