The World Boxing Association has ordered their super bantamweight champion Daniel Roman to make a mandatory defense against Murodjon Akhmadaliev in his next fight. BoxingScene.com has been advised that the WBA's Championships Committee has already issued out orders for the fight and communicated it to the champion's team in a letter signed by the president of the committee, Carlos Chavez.

AK has that 'soon' factor about him in that he's got the full toolbox but a couple of tools need sharpening (if he added a killer jab to his arsenal for example - he's got the movement for it), so either his trainers know something we don't, else its just a case of grabbing the opportunity now that its come up before they are quite ready.

But for sure, this might be a really good fight.

I gotta laugh when the WBA trys to take a stance on policy. What the f... Is their rule C13? And when did they decide to stick to policy or is it some new concept? All else fails make another championship belt for those who have 9 or fewer pro fights. They can call it the WBA lunch box title. Then throw all their belts on the line and unify within their own association..

It's not a division lacking big fights. Don't need to insult those putting in their work and bypassing them. You gotta earn it in that division. Akmad can and will earn it. But not yet..
