Yes it was shown on Sky sports. I believe that the promoters; Eddie Hearn and Oscar De La Hoya in association with Canelo Alvarez license television rights to different broadcasts of their bouts around the world.

Randomly I wonder if DAZN has pre-agreed on rights deals to different countries they roll out to in the future with Canelo & GBP & anyone else for that matter or if those rights just get individual discussed & decided upon or not upon DAZN entering these new countries? Cuz I do expect DAZN could be entering the UK in the future & will certainly be entering other countries in the future.

That doesn't mean they are going to have DAZN Mexico doe.

I remember hearing some countries they were looking to start entering over the next couple years awhile back & I didn't remember Mexico being on the list. Thought maybe I just forgot them or maybe they got added to the list.

I think Mexican TV has a good share of boxing on free TV there. Idk if DAZN Mexico being a thing is gonna be welcomed. Mfers getting boxing for free (to the level of Canelo fights ffs) aren't gonna be wanting to pay $10-$20/mo for what they see for free now. DAZN gots a uphill battle in the US now & we are already paying for boxing. DAZN Mexico might be a losing battle.

DAZN vs Sky in the UK with Eddie in the middle would be a interesting situation. Just cuz of the money I'd assume he'd side with DAZN, but idk maybe that Sky PPV money is sexier % wise idfk.

That’s all politics with original Perform execs respecting Sky Sports’ landscapes. However as DAZN keeps growing globally, and GBP and Hearn buying plenty of stock in DAZN, little Eddie wouldn’t have to feel insecure. With Barry Hearn that might be a different story with his relationship with Sky. The UK and Mexico have very similar conflicts. I’m sure there would be some agreements.

But I don’t see how it would put Hearn out of business. The UK will still have other promoters and Sky will still be Sky. The future are companies like DAZN and Eddie as a new generation imo acknowledges its future potential.

Let’s see how DAZN works out in Mexico and the UK. But all good points nonetheless. Heavy politics. I actually give Hearn credit trying the USA as such. Barry Hearn never touched anything like this.

Dazn get the uk Matchroom cards on a reciprocal deal that sees he Dazn cards appearing on Sky. Obviously should Dazn turn their heads to the uk market then Eddie will have a decision to make, but for now he's just about managing to please two masters.

Dazn were already in Germany but the same process has taken place in other countries that don't have Dazn, yet...

Enough with the consumer spending theory it’s getting old. Mexico has many middle and upper middle classes that rock smartphones...Mexico internally has success too, stop assuming its people think one way. No one assumes Americans just think like people from the Bronx...

DAZN has content that will benefit many in Mexico including its MMA, and Mexicans love the NFL

Boxing costs money in the US either way. I think boxing is free in Mexico. Or primarily free anyway. A new player coming in & charging for boxing & in a poorer country then the US is fighting a losing battle. I'd be surprised if there is a DAZN Mexico move anytime soon.
