He’s a fine addition to the TR/ espn 175 mix. If barrera can put together 2 good showcase knockouts, that could potentially land him a shot at the WBC against OG. I think Beterbiev is leaning towards a eventual meeting against kovalev

Why did I think he was already with TR?

Barrera is getting old but he is a warrior. He might get a couple of good paydays before getting knocked out by Gvozdyk or Beterbiev or something.

Respect the guy, except when he made ****** mistake of going for less money against Bivol vs opportunity with Kovalev. And then he got knocked out by Bivol.

It's tough... I honestly don't believe Barrera would make a good champion... even if he did win. He lost to Bivol, would most definitely get a vicious KO by Kovalev. I think Gvozdyk would take him out late rounds... Beterbiev would be interesting. But in any case, Top Rank needs Barerra for the intermediate fights to extract all the money they can at LHW before getting folks to unify.

He worked with Egis Klimas at some point.

Sad Barrera wasted his prime years fighting for Krappy Kathy Duva. He could've won a strap already if he had a real promoter. Hope Grandpa Bob risks one of his Euro beltholders and we finally get to see Barrera-Kovalev or Barrera-Beterviev.

I always enjoyed Barrera , for a Cuban he was balls out
But unfortunately for him , at this point of his career , imo , he will be a solid gatekeeper and nothing more
Should of , could of but didn’t

Screwed up big time by saying no to a fight with a rematch clause with the krusher, I think his best times are past him, he'd still be a good stick to measure those coming up, I hope he gets a couple of good purses, he hasn't made much.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him fight Gilberto Ramirez later this year.
