Or was Canelo just making Jacobs miss more?
Why did Jacobs take more risk attempts against GGG and not for Canelo?

This. Also handspeed. Canelo has uncommon handspeed for MW. He also didn’t needlessly chase Jacobs and controlled the pace by keeping the left hand in his face while Jacobs kept his guard up. Reflexes combined with the handspeed just seemed to make Jacobs weary considering Canelo is a natural counterpuncher. -
Quicker counters coming from Canelo. GGG may hit harder, but it's not drastic enough to make up for the decided handspeed advantage for Canelo.Comment

Because he would of left in a stretcher. Time after Time canelo makes these top guys fight shook and scared. His defense is very good and his hand speed and counter punching is amazing. That's why their aggression falls off, why they jab and box and move because it's better to lose standing then risk getting knocked out. Jacobs was missing badly and couldn't outbox canelo and never switched up the game plan to **** even though he paid 1M for a huge weight advantage. Canelo can fight you anyway you want on the outside, inside, ****, or show skill making you miss doing his Floyd impersonation. Or he can beat the Mexican Style out your azzz like he did to GGG. he can out think you or out fight you. So you pick your posion. Jacobs chose to keep it strictly a boxing match. He feared canelo countering more then he feared GGG.Last edited by bigdunny1; 05-05-2019, 02:03 AM.Comment

There are few fighters more effective at hemming in opponents' offense and shutting down their power punching than Canelo. He consistently does this even with top opponents. When opponents open up on him, he makes them miss and makes them pay. They eventually become reluctant to fully commit to their shots and instead opt to stay busy with arm punches which is fine if you're trying to claim some kind of moral victory by having Canelo haters try to make your case on message boards, but it's a losing strategy on the scorecards.Comment

Fighters are consistently having career worst offensive production and effecency when facing canelo and we taking top fighters. Not just Jacobs Go one by one and look what each of these opponents do against Canelo then go see their offensive numbers what they do against everyone else. Floyd did this for years to other fighters. Canelo is very much like Floyd in that he is out thinking guys and can adapt making opponents switch up and confused on how to fight him. It's easy to say be aggressive against Canelo but very hard to actually do it without him setting you with traps and countering after he makes you miss. The fighters who do take a beating or get knocked out.Comment
