Suico Manager Claims Premature Stoppage

1. As early as round two, it was getting clear that Suico's power was insufficient to make Juan pause. And, the clarity increased as subsequent rounds went by.
2. Suico who is taller, enjoyed the longer reach and was supposed to pack the bigger punch was backing up--straight up-- in front of someone who is widely believed to be featherfisted.
3. The power punches Suico tried to land were so telegraphed, an early warning device of some kind planted into his gloves could not have done a better job of forewarning Diaz.
4. Suico showed nothing to convince sane folks that he could still turn things around. The only round that he seemed to have performed best (round 7, if memory serves) was not because he got better; it was because Diaz appeared to have decided to take a little rest. The only chances that Suico had to win therefore was if Diaz chose to lose or through some form of divine intervention. There could be no valid reason for Diaz to all of a sudden opt for a loss, and, as far as could be determined by most people, God does not take sides in boxing matches. (Apologies to Rocky Graciano, as well as the the author, filmaker, stars, producers, etc. of "Somebody up there likes me.")
5. It is to Suico's credit that he showed courage far beyond the usual; but sadly he showed not much else. His team showed absolutely nothing except this subsequent inane claim that the stoppage was premature.
6. Koizomi and Ablaca have more years individually put into the sport than the collective experience of many groups of fight fans, but the Koizomi statement on early stoppage just shows that time spent in boxing does not always supplant ******ity. Frequent jolts from a long series of moderately powered punches--round after round, after round-- can be just as damaging as a single blow akin to the one dealt by Ponce de Leon on the Thai. Sometimes, even more damaging.

There should be no comparison: the bigger loss is always the loss of life; and not the loss of a belt--or the failure to win one.

Suico's manager and trainer sucks.They are complete moron. They can't complain of early stoppage. After Diaz repeteadly tagging their fighter in the head with vicious punches there's no other place for their fighter to go but to the hospital.

That's a justified stoppage.

I thought Cortez gave them alot of chances. He was on the verge of stepping in the entire round.

Suico was taking a one sided beating and he was not going to land the knockout punch he needed.

Diaz lost only 1 round ( 7th )

Suicos trainer is an idiot they re appllying the same strategy round after round seeing suico's gettin hit at will.

Yeah look at BobbyPac....the guy was a bum. Roach turned him into at least a B+ Class fighter.
