Comments Thread For: Grandma's Death Left Jacobs Ill-Prepared For Last Las Vegas Fight

LAS VEGAS The devastation Daniel Jacobs experienced in July 2010 should've prevented him from following through with his first middleweight title fight. His grandmother, Cordelia Jacobs, died the week of what to that point was the biggest fight of his career. Daniel Jacobs, surrounded by family members, watched the woman who helped raise him take her last breath.

Seems like he has an excuse for everything, paid for an unfair advantage, let it go, if you lose you lose. Lost a little respect for him with the stunts.

People who have never had a fight

STFU. I know that he just lost to the better fighter that night at that time but it’s still a distraction to lose a love one right before the fight.

Fighters make excuses like this to make themselves feel better. I'm sure he truly believes this but the truth is, he fought a really strong fighter and got caught with a great shot. It happens, and he's proof that a bad loss isn't the end.

This clown and everybody around him are always making excuses for him. What happens tonight? His son's pet hamster's death is what stopped him from having a good training camp. Gtfoh.

I have and I don't disrespect them by using them as an excuse. Sorry kid just stating the ugly truth. Maybe go watch wrestling if you cant handle it.
