How and why are they still trying to sell 70-80 dollar Ppv’s

The last time I paid over 70 dollars for a Ppv was mayweather vs pacquiao.

Now a days you can watch ppv’s for like 20 dollars at the movies.thats how I watched Spence vs Garcia, I have been doing this instead of shelling out the extra 50 dollars.

The only way I would pay more than 70 dollars is if I’m going to the fight live.

I don’t see how nor why pbc and espn are still selling these ppv’s at those prices when we are about to get canelo vs Jacobs for only 20 dollars. This would have easily been a 80 dollar Ppv fight years ago.

Just from a consumer standpoint there is no way I would pay the standard Ppv price point again when I can get it for cheaper.

If dazn can get the roster(imo is total garbage right now) pbc and espn(boxing) would be in serious trouble.

In all fairness, nothing wrong with it. If that’s the sole method for one network in that traditional way then it’s fine, especially if it’s a big fight.

What won’t be tolerated are the shillers from those platforms spewing fake propaganda and lies about DAZN and why it’s prices make no sense.

I don't get that too, I get certain fights having that price but for example why charge that much for Crawford/Khan?

The leap of faith is hard to make.

They already know the the profit margain with taht type of PPV and to change the price tag to 20 or 20 bucks can pretty much mean nothing or everything meaning the lower price tag can increase buys or it might not. They arent willing to risk that it might not increase buys.

But what I’m trying to get at is mayweather vs mcgregor a big fight was 40 dollars in theaters but 100 for Ppv. And now canelo vs Jacobs is just 20 dollars and you don’t have to drive in your car to go see it.

I know some networks need Ppv models to help pay the fighters there purses and they make a profit but the other options just make paying that high price ridiculous.

I agree with you 100%. But there’s even better context you can add to your point about $20 convenience. Fans like good news and value.

For $20 you get Usyk, Taylor, Haney, Joshua when you purchase the $20 Canelo Jacobs bout and other content if someone is curious about their MMA content.
