    Dmitri Pirog

I watched the Jacobs fight again and damm Pirog was a unique Russian fighter. His style was far from your typical European style. He was fundamentally sound, slick, with crazy upperbody, head movement, he had so much potential.

Right off the bat Id think that he beats GG and Canelo.

What exactly caused his back to go out like that?

I watched it the other day & thought the same. I think Pirog is better than all current MWs

It may have been years ago but I was reminded of how Jacobs is susceptible to getting outboxed.

          Im leaning more towards Canelo.

Pirog was very good but he gets overrated now because he retired undefeated. If that fight had happened between him and Golovkin I think GGG would have knocked him out.

I watch that fight probably every few months, damn shame we didn't get to see more of Pirog. Like you say, dude had a style all his own... like he'd taken bits from everywhere and mixed into something unique. Smart dude too... chess player... and you gotta love that little wink at the Camera before he steps into the ring too - nothing like the traditional stereotype of your Russian / Ex-Sov robot

Yeah, I think Pirog was a real gem. It's sad that we didn't get to see more of him. The WBO prez definitely did not expect Pirog to beat Danny. You can see his reaction in the crowd when Danny goes down. Haha. I think Pirog could have gone very far and he would have posed a serious threat to GGG and he would have fought him too, imo. Not sure who would have won that one but man, I'd love to see it!
